Terme di Saturnia S.p.A is fully aware that the economic development of the organisation does not only pass through the economic assessment of management performance, but is inextricably linked to the preservation of the Environmental Heritage, the element on which the company's activities are based, and to the conditions of Health and Safety in the Workplace.
The commitment is to spread within our organisation an environmental and occupational health and safety culture based on:
- prevention of environmental impacts,
- rational and conscious use of natural resources,
- utmost attention to the prevention of work-related risks and the minimisation of accident risks.
- constant and periodic training of our staff and management with a view to continuous improvement of their performance in the field.
The objectives we strive to achieve in the areas of Environment, Health and Safety in the Workplace do not end within our organisation, but are also taken into consideration in our relations with our guests, users and contractors from the stage of their selection.
This path to excellence, safety, environmental protection and process sustainability has always been in our culture and has led Terme di Saturnia SpA to adopt a Integrated Environment and Occupational Health and Safety Management System in accordance with ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 standards. For this internationally recognised system, the commitment to annual review and revision is based on the inspections and reports drawn up by the Independent Auditor (Dimitto Certification Services) recognised by the Italian Accreditation Body ACCREDIA.
Terme di Saturnia S.p.A obtained the ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 certifications for the following services: hotel accommodation, spa treatments (inhalation, hydropinic, baths and mud baths), thermal pools, aesthetic medicine treatments, provision of rehabilitation and physical medicine services, golf course management.
ISO 14001:2015
The ISO 14001 “Environmental Management Systems” standard” specifies the requirements of a sustainable environmental management system, which an organisation must use to manage its resources in a systematic way based on the environmental pillar of sustainability.
For the benefit of the organisation itself and its stakeholders, the standard helps to achieve the expected outcomes of the organisation's environmental policy and management system, including:
- compliance with the requirements of environmental laws,
- identification of environmental risks,
- the achievement of objectives in sustainability and reduction of environmental impact,
- a process of continuous improvement in environmental performance.
ISO 45001:2018
The ISO 45001 “Occupational health and safety management systems” standard” is the first international standard to define standards of good practice for workplace protection and safety, through the reduction of risk factors in the workplace and the improvement of workers' health and well-being.
In the application of the principles of the standard, the achievement of certain objectives is aimed at and among them:
increase prevention and control of workplaces by reducing the number of accidents,
ensure legislative compliance,

- increase staff satisfaction and improve the corporate climate.
