For over 3,000 years, Saturnia's thermal water has flowed naturally at a constant temperature of 37.5°C, rich in hydrogen sulphide, carbon dioxide and precious minerals. Today, this same water is recognised by the National Health Service for its therapeutic properties on the osteo-articular, respiratory and dermatological systems.
At Terme di Saturnia it is possible to have thermal treatments both in agreement with the NHS and privately.
The Convention with the National Health Service
Every Italian citizen has the right one cycle of thermal treatments per year paid for by the NHS by presenting a prescription from the family doctor (regional prescription).
Ticket
- Non-exempt patients: € 55
- Partially exempt: € 3.10
- Totally exempt: no costs
Protected categories can access an additional specific cycle (with an exemption code on the prescription).
The cycle includes 12 days of therapy to be carried out in the same establishment and must be completed within 60 days of commencement.

- Ask your family doctor for a prescription on the regional prescription pad.
- Verify that:
- the diagnosis is correctly indicated
- the type of treatment is specified
- any exemptions are reported
- Book the admission medical examination.
